Handheld Metal Detector Retoo GP-Pointer 360 Probe — Pinpointing coin and cable detection
The Retoo GP-Pointer 360 Probe is a handheld metal detector engineered for pinpointing small metal objects such as coins and for detecting buried cables in confined areas. Its 360° probe design allows consistent sensitivity around the tip, enabling accurate location of targets in tight spaces, trenches, and near infrastructure. The device is compact and intended for hobbyist prospecting, search tasks, and situations where precise local detection is required.
The GP-Pointer’s 360° probe provides uniform detection around the tip, reducing the need to rotate the tool to locate the target. Its handheld form factor and focused sensing area make it suitable for searching narrow gaps, shallow soil layers, and around roots or pipes. The detector is built for easy one-handed operation, allowing fine control when pinpointing small items or following the path of a cable.
The GP-Pointer is designed for pinpointing and close-range detection rather than for wide-area scanning. It is not intended to replace a full-size search coil detector for sweeping large fields or deep target detection. For applications requiring long-range depth sensing or rapid coverage of large areas, a complementary full-sized metal detector is recommended.
Hold the GP-Pointer so the probe tip is close to the surface and sweep slowly across the search area. Move the probe in short, controlled passes to detect a change in response as you approach the target. Use the device to follow a cable’s path by moving along the expected route and noting changes in detection strength. For locating small items like coins, begin at the area indicated by a larger detector and then narrow down with the GP-Pointer until the precise location is found.
Use the Retoo GP-Pointer 360 Probe as a secondary tool after an initial sweep with a larger detector to achieve accurate pinpointing of coins, small finds, and cables. Maintain slow, steady movement and keep the probe close to the surface for the most reliable results.
