Cable Gland Rittal SZ 2843.400, M40 Thread, IP69K, Silver, for Cable Ø19 mm
The Rittal SZ 2843.400 Silver is an M40 cable gland designed for secure cable entry into enclosures where electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and high ingress protection are required. It supports cable diameters from 2 to 19 mm and provides a conductive connection between cable shield and enclosure while maintaining the enclosure’s IP69K rating.
The gland retains the cable shield inside the enclosure, ensuring a reliable EMC grounding path. Its supplied lock nut cuts through paint when tightened, creating an automatic conductive connection to the enclosure. Constructed to meet high protection standards, it helps preserve IP69K sealing for use in demanding environments.
This gland may not be suitable when a non-conductive connection is required, since it is designed to establish electrical continuity between the cable shield and the enclosure. It is also sized specifically for M40 thread and the specified cable diameter range, so it is not appropriate for other thread sizes or cables outside the 2–19 mm range.
Insert the cable through the gland and, if desired, remove or interrupt the outer sheathing at the contact point so the shield can be retained inside the enclosure. Fit the gland into the enclosure’s M40 threaded entry and tighten the supplied lock nut. As the lock nut is tightened, it cuts into painted surfaces to form a conductive connection between the gland and enclosure, ensuring EMC grounding while maintaining the seal.
For reliable EMC performance, ensure the cable shield is clean and properly positioned inside the enclosure before tightening the lock nut; tighten sufficiently to establish metal-to-metal contact with the enclosure paint layer removed at the contact area.
