Power distribution unit Rittal DK 7979.134 PDU Basic 24 AC outlets, 400 V, 32 A, 3 m cable, Aluminium/Plastic, Black/Grey/Pink/White
The Rittal DK 7979.134 PDU Basic is a rack- and enclosure-mounted power distribution unit engineered for medium- to high-density installations. It delivers 24 AC outlets from a single 400 V input and supports a maximum continuous current of 32 A. The housing combines aluminium and plastic for a balance of durability and weight, and the unit is supplied with a 3 m mains cable. Multiple colour options — black, grey, pink and white — allow visually consistent integration into IT and industrial cabinets.
This PDU provides a compact and reliable way to distribute three-phase 400 V power to multiple devices while maintaining a clear current capacity of up to 32 A. The aluminium/plastic construction offers mechanical protection and reduced weight compared with all-metal designs. The 3 m cable length simplifies placement inside racks or enclosures without the need for additional cabling, and the 24 outlet count supports medium-scale equipment clusters in data cabinets and control panels. Colour variants help match aesthetic or organisational requirements in different environments.
This basic PDU does not include advanced metering, remote monitoring, outlet-level switching or surge protection features. For installations that require outlet-level control, environmental monitoring, or integrated surge suppression, a managed or surge-protected PDU would be more appropriate. Also, where higher than 32 A continuous load is expected, a PDU with a higher current rating is necessary.
Install the PDU in a compatible rack or enclosure following local electrical codes and rack-mounting practices. Connect the 3 m supply cable to the appropriate three-phase 400 V source via a suitably rated connector and protective device. Distribute equipment across the 24 outlets while observing the total current limit of 32 A; balance loads across phases where applicable to avoid overloading a single phase. Periodically inspect the unit and connections for signs of wear or overheating.
Distribute connected devices to balance phase loads, secure the PDU firmly in the rack to avoid mechanical strain on the supply cable, and arrange cable routing to keep ventilation paths clear. For critical systems, combine this basic PDU with upstream surge protection and appropriate circuit protection.
