Power distribution unit Rittal 7979.237 Metered PDU 30 AC outlets (24xC13, 6xC19) Three-phase 400V 32A 22000W 3m cable Black
Rittal 7979.237 is a metered three-phase rack power distribution unit (PDU) with 30 AC outlets (24 × C13 and 6 × C19). Designed for a 400 V nominal input and a maximum current of 32 A, the unit supports up to 22,000 W power and comes with a 3 m mains cable. Onboard measurement provides per-phase current and voltage monitoring, an operating hours meter and adjustable alarm limits. Network management interfaces include HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, SNMP, Modbus/TCP, OPC‑UA, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6 and USB firmware upgrade support, enabling centralized monitoring and integration with data centre management systems.
The metered Rittal PDU provides accurate energy measurement (±1% kWh) and real-time monitoring for each phase, allowing precise load balancing and power planning in IT racks. Its compact 0U vertical design enables tool-free mounting in compatible racks and offers clear phase colour coding for simplified installation and maintenance. Built-in features such as an internal RTC with battery buffering, an electromagnetic buzzer for acoustic alarms and configurable warning/alarm thresholds help maintain operational visibility without requiring an external power supply.
This PDU is intended for three‑phase, 400 V rack installations and requires compatible infrastructure capable of delivering up to 32 A. It is not suitable for single‑phase 110–230 V environments or locations without appropriate three‑phase supply. Environments requiring switched outlet control per individual outlet are not covered by this metered (non-switched) model.
Mount the PDU vertically in the rack’s zero‑U space or another suitable vertical position compatible with your rack model. Connect the supplied 3 m cable to the appropriate three‑phase 400 V supply protected by suitable upstream overcurrent protection. Use the network interface to configure monitoring, SNMP or other management protocols and set warning/alarm thresholds for voltage, current and output. Monitor per‑phase measurements to distribute loads evenly across L1, L2 and L3 and consult the PDU’s colour coding for phase identification during cabling and maintenance.
For reliable operation, install upstream overcurrent protection sized to local code, evenly distribute connected equipment across phases using the per‑phase measurements, and configure alarm thresholds based on equipment power ratings. Regularly record operating hours and export logs via the supported network interfaces or USB for trend analysis and capacity planning.
