The Studio microphone RØDE PodMic USB is a versatile dynamic microphone designed for podcasting, streaming, gaming, voice-over work and other spoken-word content. It offers both XLR and USB Type-C outputs so you can connect to an audio interface or mixer or plug directly into a computer or compatible mobile device for immediate recording. The mic includes RØDE’s low-noise Revolution Preamp™ and APHEX® DSP on the USB path, a zero-latency headphone output with level control, an internal pop filter and shockmount, and a compact durable metal body with a matte black finish.

Connect the PodMic USB to a computer or mobile device using the supplied USB Type-C cable for plug-and-play digital recording, or use the XLR output to connect to an audio interface or mixer for an analog workflow. Adjust the onboard rotary level control for headphone monitoring volume and use the device’s DSP settings (via RØDE software) to apply VoxLab presets or manually set the high-pass filter, noise gate, compressor and other processors. Position the microphone with its internal pop filter and external pop shield to reduce plosives and use the internal shockmount to minimise vibrations.

Usage recommendations

For best speech clarity, place the microphone 10–20 cm from the speaker’s mouth, angle slightly off-axis to reduce plosive bursts, and use the onboard DSP presets to quickly find a suitable tonal balance.
