Microphone RØDE SM6
The RØDE SM6 is a suspension shock mount designed for large-diaphragm RØDE microphones such as the NTK, NT2000, NT2-A, NT1000 and NT1-A. It provides mechanical isolation from handling noise and external vibrations and comes in a compact black design with dimensions 133 mm × 210 mm × 210 mm and a weight of 0.682 kg. The SM6 is an accessory intended to improve clarity by reducing rumble and unwanted low-frequency vibration in studio and broadcast setups.
The SM6 offers effective isolation from physical disturbances that cause microphone rumble, a removable pop shield with two-axis adjustment for flexible positioning and a telescopic arm that increases mounting versatility. Its build is compatible with many large-diaphragm RØDE microphones and features a professional black finish suitable for studio environments.
Mount the microphone into the suspension cradle compatible with your RØDE large-diaphragm model, secure the shock mount to a stand or boom arm, and adjust the telescopic arm to position the microphone. Fit the removable pop shield and set its two-axis adjustment to block plosives and position the shield between the vocalist and the capsule. Check that all clamps and thread fittings are tightened to prevent movement.
For best isolation, ensure the shock mount is attached to a stable stand or boom arm and avoid contacting the stand during recording. Position the pop shield 5–10 cm from the microphone capsule and adjust distance according to voice level. Regularly inspect elastic elements and fittings for wear to maintain optimal shock isolation.
