The RØDE VideoMic Rycote is a professional-grade 1/2" condenser shotgun microphone designed for use with consumer video cameras and personal audio recorders. It delivers a focused supercardioid pickup and a frequency response of 40–20,000 Hz, providing clear capture of on-camera sources while remaining compact and lightweight for field use.

Advantages

The integrated Rycote-style shock mounting isolates the microphone capsule and electronics from its all-metal shoe mount to reduce handling noise, rumble and vibration. A standard-sized shoe mount includes a 3/8" thread in the base for easy attachment to boom poles or stands. The microphone offers a selectable 80 Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency noise and two selectable PADs (-10 dB and -20 dB) accessed inside the battery compartment for recording loud sources. Low power consumption and a lightweight 176 g build make it suitable for extended handheld or camera-mounted operation.
