The RØDE VideoMic GO is a compact, lightweight studio microphone designed to deliver clear, directional audio with minimal setup. How to use

Mount the VideoMic GO to your camera’s hot shoe and connect the 3.5 mm cable to the camera’s external microphone input. Position the microphone so it points toward the primary sound source. Because the microphone is powered by the camera, enable the camera’s external microphone input in its audio settings if required and set appropriate recording levels on the camera. No additional setup or battery installation is needed.

Usage recommendations

For best results, place the microphone within a few metres of the subject and point it directly at the sound source. Use the Lyre® shock mount to minimise handling noise and avoid mounting on surfaces that transmit strong vibrations. Check camera input levels before recording to prevent clipping.
