Handheld Adapter Rode Microphones Interview Micro (orange) for Rode wireless transmitter modules
The Handheld Adapter Rode Microphones Interview Micro (orange) is a dedicated accessory that converts Rode wireless transmitter modules into a comfortable, professional-looking handheld interview microphone. Designed to accept standard Rode transmitter bodies, the orange adapter provides a secure grip and a visible, easy-to-locate housing for on-the-spot interviews, vox pops, field reporting and event coverage where a fast change from bodypack to handheld is needed.
This handheld adapter offers a snug fit for compatible Rode transmitter modules and improves handling ergonomics compared with using a transmitter on its own. The bright orange finish increases visibility on camera and in crowded locations while the molded body protects the transmitter from minor knocks and helps position the microphone capsule for consistent audio capture. The design enables quick insertion and removal of the transmitter, allowing reporters and presenters to switch between clip-on and handheld configurations without additional tools.
This adapter is intended specifically for use with compatible Rode wireless transmitter modules and does not replace a purpose-built handheld microphone for high-noise environments or broadcast studios that require shock-mounted capsules and advanced wind protection. It is not a wireless transmitter itself and must be used with appropriate Rode transmitter modules to function as a handheld microphone solution.
Insert the compatible Rode wireless transmitter module into the adapter’s cavity until it seats securely and the transmitter controls remain accessible. Hold the adapter by its molded body to position the microphone capsule toward the speaker. For on-camera work, ensure the adapter is angled to direct the capsule toward the subject’s mouth and verify transmitter power and wireless link before recording. To revert to bodypack use, remove the transmitter from the adapter and reattach as required.
Use the adapter in combination with a windscreen when recording outdoors and inspect the fit before each use to ensure the transmitter is secure. For consistent audio levels, maintain a steady distance and angle between the microphone capsule and the speaker’s mouth.
