Studio microphone RØDE NT1-A 5th Gen
The RØDE NT1-A 5th Gen studio microphone combines the classic NT1 sound with modern digital functionality. It provides both XLR and USB-C connectivity via RØDE’s Dual Connect output, an integrated high-quality preamplifier and A/D conversion, advanced on-board DSP including APHEX® processing, and a 32-bit float digital output that protects against clipping. The microphone keeps the NT1’s warm, silky character, extremely low self-noise and high SPL handling while adding plug-and-play USB recording and professional studio features suitable for home and professional studios.
The NT1-A 5th Gen delivers an exceptionally low self-noise level, a broad usable frequency response and high SPL capability while offering flexible connectivity (XLR and USB-C) for any workflow. Its integrated Revolution Preamp™, 192 kHz A/D conversion and onboard DSP (including APHEX® Aural Exciter™ and Big Bottom™) provide studio-grade processing without extra hardware. The 32-bit float digital output enables recording without risk of clipping, and the package includes a shock mount, pop filter, premium XLR cable and USB-C cable for immediate setup.
Choose the connection that suits your setup: connect via XLR to an audio interface or mixer to use the microphone as a traditional studio condenser, or plug the USB-C output directly into a computer for plug-and-play digital recording. When recording in digital, you can enable 32-bit float to avoid clipping and adjust levels later in your DAW. Use the RØDE Central and RØDE Connect apps to access onboard DSP, apply APHEX® processing, adjust gain and update firmware. For Windows, install the custom ASIO driver to enable full functionality such as 32-bit float recording and multi-mic USB operation.
Place the NT1-A 5th Gen on a stable stand using the included shock mount and position it according to the source: 10–30 cm for vocals, adjust distance for instruments to taste. Use the included pop filter for close vocal work. When recording loud sources, rely on the high SPL handling and consider engaging 32-bit float to capture full dynamics without clipping. Regularly update firmware via RØDE Central and use supplied cables for optimal connections.
