ROLINE 21.17.0056 SC/SC Female OM5 is an SC-to-SC female fibre optic connector designed for use with OM5 multimode fibre. It provides a keystone-format interface suitable for mounting in patch panels, faceplates or fibre couplers and for creating reliable multimode links in data centre and enterprise short-range networks. The connector is lightweight (about 4.6 g) and built with a ceramic ferrule sleeve to ensure stable optical alignment and low insertion loss when used with OM5 multimode cables.
The keystone-format housing allows simple snap-in installation in standard panels and front plates without additional tooling. Ceramic ferrule sleeve delivers consistent mating and alignment with SC connectors, supporting repeatable connections. The compact, plastic housing combines low weight with mechanical durability, making it practical for dense patching environments. Compatibility with OM5 multimode infrastructure makes it suitable for high-bandwidth short-distance applications.
Insert the keystone connector into a compatible keystone opening in a patch panel or wall plate until it snaps into place. Clean end faces of fibre patch cords before mating to reduce insertion loss and back-reflection. Align and plug SC multimode patch cords into both SC ports of the adapter until they click. For removal, depress any retaining clips and pull the keystone module straight out to avoid stress on the fibres.
Use certified OM5 multimode patch cords and perform visual inspection and cleaning of ferrule end faces prior to every connection. Avoid bending the connected fibres beyond their specified minimum bend radius and secure cables to prevent strain on the keystone connector and panel mounting.
