HDD SanDisk 80 TB USB Type-C G-RAID Shuttle 4 Black
The SanDisk G-RAID Shuttle 4 Black is a transportable external HDD system offering 80 TB capacity with USB Type-C connectivity and hardware RAID. Designed for demanding production workflows, it houses four removable enterprise-class 7200 RPM drives and ships configured as RAID 5 to balance performance and redundancy. With Thunderbolt-capable connectivity via USB-C and support for USB Power Delivery, the device integrates into modern editing setups and can provide power to compatible laptops while delivering sustained high throughput for multi-stream 4K and 8K workflows.
The unit provides high sustained throughput—up to 640 MB/s read and up to 800 MB/s write in default RAID 5—enabling real-time editing and fast ingest of large video files. Hardware RAID support for RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 plus JBOD offers flexible data protection and performance configurations. Removable Ultrastar enterprise-class drives improve serviceability and reliability, while a transportable, rugged design simplifies moving between production locations and studios. Dual high-speed ports allow daisy-chaining multiple devices and the system includes USB Power Delivery support to reduce cable clutter by charging compatible laptops.
Connect the SanDisk G-RAID Shuttle 4 to your computer using the supplied USB Type-C cable or a compatible Thunderbolt connection. The device is preconfigured in RAID 5 for a balance of performance and redundancy; you can change RAID levels using the hardware RAID controller according to workflow requirements. Install or hot-swap the removable drives following the manufacturer’s instructions for safe removal and insertion. For multi-device setups, use the dual high-speed ports to daisy-chain additional units or attach high-resolution displays as supported by your host system.
Use RAID 5 for an optimal balance of speed and data protection during editing, and consider RAID 0 only when maximum sequential performance is required and redundancy is handled elsewhere. Maintain regular backups of critical assets on a separate system or cloud service. When transporting the unit, secure the removable drives and use protective cases to reduce shock exposure. Ensure your host computer and cables support the required bandwidth for multi-stream 4K/8K workflows to achieve the listed sustained speeds.
