Schneider Electric TeSys GVAS225 Shunt Trip Release for GV2 and GV3 Series
The Schneider Electric TeSys GVAS225 is a specialized shunt trip release designed to provide remote tripping capabilities for GV2 and GV3 series motor circuit breakers. This auxiliary device is essential for enhancing the safety and control of electrical distribution systems by allowing operators to trigger a circuit breaker trip from a remote location. Engineered for reliability and precision, this component integrates seamlessly into industrial automation environments, ensuring that motor protection systems can respond effectively to control signals.
The primary advantage of this shunt trip release is its ability to facilitate remote emergency stops or automated shutdowns, which significantly improves operational safety in complex electrical installations. By utilizing a standard control voltage range, it offers compatibility with a wide array of industrial control circuits. Its robust design and adherence to international standards ensure consistent performance under various operating conditions, while the simple screw clamp terminal connection allows for straightforward installation and maintenance.
This device is specifically engineered for use with Schneider Electric GV2 and GV3 series motor circuit breakers and is not compatible with other series or brands. It is intended for AC voltage applications and should not be used in DC-only control circuits unless specified by the manufacturer.
The GVAS225 shunt trip release is designed to be mounted on the right-hand side of a compatible GV2 or GV3 motor circuit breaker. Before installation, ensure that the power supply to the circuit breaker is disconnected. Secure the device to the side of the breaker according to the provided mechanical interface. Connect the control wires to the screw clamp terminals. Once installed, the device will trigger a trip when a control voltage between 0.7 and 1.1 Uc is applied for at least 20ms.
Always verify the control voltage compatibility before applying power to the shunt release to prevent damage to the internal coil. Ensure that the control signal duration meets the minimum requirement of 20ms for reliable operation.
