UPS APC Smart-UPS SMT1000RMI2UC
The APC Smart-UPS SMT1000RMI2UC is a 1000VA line-interactive 2U rackmount UPS designed for IT professionals and network administrators who need reliable short-term power continuity for servers, switches and other critical equipment. It delivers pure sine wave output, provides surge protection against lightning and voltage transients, and includes 4x IEC 320 C13 outlets, IEC 320 C14 input, USB connectivity and two IEC jumper cables. The unit supports user-replaceable battery cartridges (APCRBC132) and offers cloud-based remote monitoring via SmartConnect and optional management through EcoStruxure IT or a Network Management Card.
The SMT1000RMI2UC automatically supplies emergency power during a mains outage to prevent data loss and uncontrolled shutdowns. Integrated features include SmartConnect out-of-box remote monitoring, PowerChute software support for controlled shutdowns, surge protection and configurable switched outlet groups for phased startup or remote reboot. The internal battery cartridge is user-replaceable without powering down connected equipment, and the UPS supports remote diagnostics, firmware updates and proactive notifications when connected to cloud services. Factory warranty is 3 years (battery 2 years) with an option to extend via APC service packs.
Install the SMT1000RMI2UC into a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied 4-post rail kit. Connect critical devices to the IEC C13 outlets and connect mains power to the IEC C14 input. For automatic controlled shutdowns, connect one server via USB and install the free APC PowerChute software or deploy the PowerChute Network Shutdown with an optional Network Management Card. Enable SmartConnect via the Ethernet port to register the UPS with the APC SmartConnect cloud portal for remote monitoring, diagnostics and firmware updates.
Monitor battery health and firmware status regularly via SmartConnect or EcoStruxure IT, replace the APCRBC132 battery cartridge before end-of-life to maintain runtime, and use switched outlet groups to stagger device power-on or perform remote reboots to limit inrush current and reduce UPS oversizing.
