UPS APC Smart-UPS SMT2200IC
The APC Smart-UPS SMT2200IC is a line-interactive UPS providing 2.2 kVA (1980 W) output power and multiple IEC outlets to protect critical equipment. It supplies emergency power immediately when mains fail, offers an LCD for status and configuration, and uses sealed lead-acid batteries with a user-replaceable battery cartridge (RBC55). The unit includes a USB Type-A port and delivers typical runtimes of approximately 8.7 minutes at full load and 25 minutes at half load.
The SMT2200IC prevents unexpected shutdowns by automatically switching to battery power and supports controlled shutdowns of connected systems via the free APC PowerChute software. It provides surge and lightning protection for connected devices, remote monitoring via SmartConnect or an optional Network Management Card, and phased power-on and remote reboot capability through Switched Outlet Groups. The internal battery cartridge can be replaced without powering down connected equipment, and the product comes with a factory warranty (3 years for the unit, 2 years for the battery) which can be extended with an APC service pack.
Install the SMT2200IC on a stable surface and connect critical devices to the C13 and C19 outlets. Connect the unit to mains power; the UPS will charge the internal battery and be ready to provide automatic emergency power during an outage. For graceful shutdowns, connect one server via USB and install the free APC PowerChute Serial Edition to configure shutdown thresholds. For network monitoring and remote management, connect the SmartConnect Ethernet port or install the optional APC Network Management Card and configure EcoStruxure IT Expert or PowerChute Network Shutdown as needed. Use the physical buttons and LCD to read status and change basic settings.
Place the UPS in a ventilated area free from excessive dust and heat. Regularly check the runtime graph and battery status, replace the RBC55 battery cartridge before end-of-life to maintain availability, and consider SmartConnect or a Network Management Card for remote monitoring and controlled shutdowns. Extend the factory warranty with the APC service pack if longer coverage is required.
