UPS APC Smart-UPS SMT3000RMI2UNC
The APC Smart-UPS SMT3000RMI2UNC is a 3000 VA line-interactive UPS providing 2700 W output in a 2U rackmount format. It supplies emergency power to connected equipment as soon as mains power fails and includes a pre-installed network management card (ap9641) for remote monitoring and control. The UPS supports safe shutdown of servers and virtual machines with PowerChute Network Shutdown and offers replaceable internal battery cartridges (RBC43) to extend service life. The unit features 8 C13 and 1 C19 outlets, USB connectivity and complies with common safety and environmental standards.
The SMT3000RMI2UNC delivers uninterrupted emergency power automatically to prevent data loss and hardware damage during outages. Integrated surge and peak-voltage protection reduce risk from lightning-induced transients. Remote management via the network card (SNMP, web interface or EcoStruxure IT) enables monitoring, scheduled or automatic shutdowns and firmware updates. Hot-swappable internal battery cartridges simplify battery replacement without powering down the UPS or connected equipment. Switched outlet groups allow phased start-up and remote reboot of selected loads, reducing startup peaks and supporting orderly restarts.
Install the SMT3000RMI2UNC in a standard 19-inch rack using the included 4-post rail kit and connect the protected equipment to the C13 and C19 outlets. Connect the network management card to your LAN for remote monitoring and configure PowerChute Network Shutdown on your servers to enable controlled shutdown sequences. Use the front-panel buttons and LCD to view runtime and status information and to change basic settings. Replace the internal RBC43 battery cartridge following the manufacturer instructions while the unit and connected devices remain powered, if necessary.
For virtualized and hyperconverged infrastructures, obtain the required PowerChute Network Shutdown license for HCI and VM support (1, 3 or 5 year options). Consider the optional network card support contract to keep firmware and security updates current. Use switched outlet groups to sequence power-on and reduce inrush current, and schedule regular battery runtime checks to ensure expected backup duration.
