The UPS APC Smart-UPS SMT750RMI2UNC is a line-interactive 2U rackmount UPS with 750 VA / 500 W capacity designed to keep critical IT equipment online during power disturbances. It supplies pure sine wave output, offers surge protection against lightning and voltage transients, and includes a preinstalled Network Management Card for remote monitoring and management. The unit provides 4x IEC 320 C13 outlets, IEC 320 C14 input, USB connectivity and two IEC jumper cables. The internal sealed lead-acid battery is user-replaceable and the UPS ships with PowerChute Network Shutdown software for graceful shutdown of physical and virtual servers and HCI clusters.

Advantages

The SMT750RMI2UNC delivers uninterrupted emergency power automatically on mains failure, protects connected devices from voltage peaks and transients, and enables controlled shutdowns via PowerChute Network Shutdown to prevent data loss and hardware damage. Remote monitoring and management are available through the preinstalled network card (AP9641) using SNMP, a web interface or EcoStruxure IT. The removable internal battery cartridge (APCRBC123) can be replaced without powering down the UPS or connected equipment, and rack mounting is simplified with the included 4-post rail kit.

How to use

Install the UPS in a 4-post rack using the included rail kit and connect the IEC 320 C14 input to the mains. Plug critical devices into the four IEC 320 C13 outlets and connect the network to the preinstalled management card for remote monitoring. Configure PowerChute Network Shutdown and, if required, add licenses for HCI or advanced virtual machine support. Use the front panel LCD and buttons for local configuration and status checks. Replace the internal battery cartridge when indicated, following the manufacturer instructions to perform a hot-swap without powering down connected equipment.

Usage recommendations

Monitor battery runtime using the runtime graph and schedule regular battery tests. Keep firmware and network card support contract current for security and feature updates; consider the optional support license variants (1–6 years). For remote reboot and phased start-up, configure Switched Outlet Groups; use SmartConnect or EcoStruxure IT for remote-controlled outlet group resets and phased boot sequences.
