UPS APC Smart-UPS X SMX1500RMI2UNC
The APC Smart-UPS X SMX1500RMI2UNC is a 1500VA line-interactive UPS designed for rack or tower installation (2U). It provides pure sine wave power to support critical IT equipment during power disturbances and includes a preinstalled Network Management Card (ap9641) for network-based monitoring and remote management. The unit has 8× IEC 320 C13 outlets, IEC 320 C14 input, USB connectivity, expandable runtime via external battery packs (SMX48RMBP2U), and a user-replaceable internal battery cartridge (APCRBC115). The UPS is compatible with PowerChute Network Shutdown for controlled shutdown of physical and virtual environments and can integrate with EcoStruxure IT or other SNMP-compatible management systems.
The SMX1500RMI2UNC supplies emergency power automatically when mains power fails, preventing data loss and abrupt shutdown of servers, PCs, and network equipment. Remote monitoring and management are available through the preinstalled network card and compatible software. Expandable external battery packs and a user-replaceable battery cartridge extend runtime and service life. Switched outlet groups allow phased start-up and remote reboot of connected equipment to manage load and prioritize critical devices.
Install the UPS in a rack using the supplied 4-post brackets or place it upright using the included tower feet. Connect critical equipment to the IEC C13 outlets and the mains input to the IEC C14. Configure the network card via its web interface or an SNMP management platform to enable remote monitoring and to integrate PowerChute Network Shutdown. If longer runtime is required, connect compatible external battery packs (SMX48RMBP2U). Replace the internal battery cartridge (APCRBC115) as a user-replaceable item when battery capacity declines, following safety and disposal instructions in the user manual.
Place the UPS in a well-ventilated location, avoid exposure to high temperatures, and register the device for warranty support. Use PowerChute Network Shutdown to configure graceful shutdown sequences for physical servers, virtual machines and HCI clusters, and apply the optional network card support contract and PowerChute licenses for extended features and updates.
