UPS APC Smart-UPS X SMX2200R2HVNC
The APC Smart-UPS X SMX2200R2HVNC is a 2200VA line-interactive UPS designed for rack or tower installation (2U). It provides 1980 W of output power and pure sine wave voltage to support servers, networking gear and other critical IT equipment during power disturbances. The unit includes a preinstalled network management card for remote monitoring and supports PowerChute Network Shutdown to enable controlled shutdowns of physical and virtual systems. The UPS includes multiple power cords, a temperature sensor and mounting brackets for flexible deployment.
The SMX2200R2HVNC delivers stable sine-wave output and automatic emergency power transfer at mains failure, reducing the risk of data loss and hardware damage. Expandable runtime is possible via compatible external battery packs, and the internal user-replaceable battery cartridge allows safe battery replacement without powering down connected equipment. Remote management, SNMP support and PowerChute integration enable graceful shutdowns and centralized monitoring.
This UPS is not intended for very large data centers or facilities requiring multi-MVA capacity; its 2200VA / 1980W rating targets small-to-midsize deployments. For environments that need extended runtimes out-of-the-box without adding external battery packs, a higher-capacity UPS or additional batteries will be required.
Install the UPS in a rack (using supplied 4-post brackets) or position it as a tower with stabilizing feet. Connect critical equipment to the IEC outlets and plug the appropriate input power cord for your region. Use the LCD and front-panel buttons for local configuration, or access the preinstalled network management card via web interface or SNMP for remote monitoring and settings. Install PowerChute Network Shutdown on your servers and configure shutdown rules so virtual and physical machines can be powered down gracefully during extended outages. If extended runtime is required, connect compatible external battery packs according to the manufacturer instructions.
Place the UPS in a ventilated, temperature-controlled environment, register and configure the network management card, and use PowerChute Network Shutdown to protect servers and virtual machines. Schedule periodic battery tests and replace the internal battery cartridge following the manufacturer guidelines to maintain reliable backup performance.
