UPS APC Smart-UPS X SMX3000HVNC
The APC Smart-UPS X SMX3000HVNC is a line-interactive 3 kVA / 2.7 kW UPS designed for rack or tower installation to protect servers, network equipment and other critical IT devices during power disturbances. It provides pure sine wave output, eight IEC C13 and two IEC C19 outlets, a pre-installed network management card for remote monitoring and management, and user-replaceable internal battery support for extended lifetime and runtime with optional external battery packs.
The SMX3000HVNC delivers automatic, instantaneous emergency power when mains fail, preventing unexpected shutdowns and potential data loss. A pre-installed network card (AP9641) enables SNMP-based remote monitoring and management and integration with PowerChute Network Shutdown for graceful shutdowns of physical and virtual machines. The unit supports expandable runtime via external battery packs (SMX120BP), configurable switched outlet groups for phased startup and remote reboot, and hot-swappable internal battery cartridge (APCRBC143) for easy replacement without powering down connected equipment.
Install the SMX3000HVNC in a rack (4U) using the supplied front-post rack brackets or place it upright using the included feet. Connect critical equipment to the IEC C13/C19 outputs and plug the UPS into mains using the supplied input cord appropriate for your region. Configure network access for remote monitoring by connecting the pre-installed network card to your LAN and access the web interface or EcoStruxure IT to set SNMP, alerts and PowerChute Network Shutdown settings. For longer runtime, connect optional SMX120BP external battery packs according to the user manual. Replace the internal battery cartridge (APCRBC143) following the hot-swap instructions to avoid downtime.
Connect non-critical loads to switchable outlet groups and configure phased startup to reduce peak inrush and extend runtime for critical devices. Keep firmware and network card support licenses up to date for security updates and advanced features; deploy PowerChute Network Shutdown and the appropriate HCI/VM license where virtual machine orderly shutdown is required.
