UPS APC Smart-UPS On-Line SRT8KRMXLI
The APC Smart-UPS On-Line SRT8KRMXLI is an 8 kVA double-conversion rackmount UPS designed to provide continuous, clean power for critical IT equipment. It delivers pure sine wave output, tight voltage and frequency regulation, and includes an embedded Network Management Card for remote monitoring and management. The unit supports 6x IEC 320 C13 and 4x IEC 320 C19 outlets, hardwire input (3-wire or 5-wire), a SmartSlot for optional accessory cards, and user-replaceable internal battery cartridges. Typical runtime at full load is approximately 5.2 minutes with the built-in sealed lead-acid battery (1728 VAh). The UPS is factory-certified and intended for professional IT and network environments.
The SRT8KRMXLI uses double-conversion online topology to supply consistently clean power and instant, automatic transfer to battery during mains disturbances, preventing unexpected shutdowns and data loss. Its internal bypass and input power factor correction increase availability and protect connected hardware from voltage spikes, including lightning-induced transients. The rack-friendly design includes a tiltable LCD and 4-post rail kit for 6U mounting, while the embedded network card and PowerChute Network Shutdown software enable centralized and automated, graceful shutdown of physical and virtual systems. Hot-swappable internal battery cartridges simplify replacement without powering down the UPS or connected equipment.
Install the UPS in a compatible 19-inch rack using the included 4-post rail kit and connect AC input according to site wiring (hardwire 1P+N+E or 3P+N+E). Connect critical equipment to the IEC outlets and, if additional runtime is required, attach compatible external battery packs (SRT192RMBP2). Configure the embedded Network Management Card via the web interface or SNMP, and install PowerChute Network Shutdown on protected servers to enable automated, orderly shutdowns of physical and virtual machines. Replace internal battery cartridges (APCRBC140) when indicated by the UPS; cartridges are hot‑swappable and can be changed without powering down connected equipment.
For virtualized and hyperconverged environments, purchase the required PowerChute Network Shutdown license (1, 3 or 5 years) to ensure proper VM and HCI cluster shutdown. Use EcoStruxure IT or another SNMP-compatible monitoring platform for centralized management and regular firmware updates. Install the UPS in a temperature-controlled environment, follow manufacturer instructions for battery maintenance, and consider a support contract for ongoing security updates and advanced technical assistance.
