Tubeless Ready tyre Schwalbe Marathon plus 28 City/Trekking 50-85 psi
The Schwalbe Marathon plus 28 City/Trekking 50-85 psi is a Tubeless Ready tyre designed for city and trekking use on 28" wheels. It combines a robust construction with a puncture-resistant insert and an inflation pressure range of 50–85 psi. With a maximum load capacity of 100 kg and a weight of approximately 960 g, this tyre is engineered to provide long service life and reliable performance on varied urban and touring surfaces.
The tyre features a patented 5 mm SmartGuard insert that significantly reduces the risk of punctures while maintaining competitive rolling resistance. The SmartGuard compound includes a share of recycled rubber. Sidewalls are treated with an "anti-aging" formulation to resist cracking under typical low-pressure stress. The model is Tubeless Ready and compatible with e-bikes; many sizes are approved for faster electric bikes up to 50 km/h where specified.
Install the tyre on a compatible 28" rim following tubeless or clincher mounting procedures appropriate for Tubeless Ready tyres. Inflate to a pressure within the specified 50–85 psi range using a reliable pump and manometer; do not rely on manual thumb compression to assess pressure. Regularly check air pressure before rides and inspect the tyre surface for embedded debris. When fitting tubeless, use suitable sealant and ensure bead seating and airtightness according to the rim and sealant manufacturer instructions.
For best puncture protection and performance, maintain the tyre pressure within the recommended 50–85 psi and use a manometer for accurate measurement. If used on an electric bicycle, confirm the tyre size is approved for the intended e-bike speed class. Replace the tyre when tread wear or sidewall damage compromises safety.
