Bicycle Tire Schwalbe 11126448.02 Winter 35-622 920g
The Schwalbe 11126448.02 Winter 35-622 is a winter bicycle tyre designed to provide reliable grip and protection on icy and slippery roads. Intended for a wide range of bikes including BMX, City/Trekking, MTB and Road, this tyre combines a winter-specific rubber compound, lamellar tread pattern and up to 240 embedded studs to maintain control during braking and cornering. It also includes Schwalbe's SmartGuard puncture protection layer and is rated Protection Level 7.
The Winter compound improves traction at low temperatures while the lamella tread increases surface bite on ice and packed snow. Up to 240 studs offer additional grip on hard-packed ice. The SmartGuard layer reduces the risk of punctures and helps protect the tyre from road debris. With a tyre weight of approximately 920 g and a wide inflation pressure range, the tyre balances durability and ride stability for winter conditions.
Mount the tyre on a compatible 622 mm rim following standard tyre-fitting procedures. Ensure studs are correctly oriented if the tyre has a directional arrow and seat the bead evenly before inflating. Inflate within the recommended 35–85 psi range according to load and riding conditions. Check tyre pressure regularly and inspect studs and the SmartGuard layer for damage or excessive wear; replace the tyre when studs are worn or puncture protection is compromised.
For optimal performance on ice, run the tyre at a pressure suited to the rider weight and surface — lower pressures improve contact on loose snow, higher pressures help stability on hard ice. Avoid using studded tyres on dry, hot tarmac for extended periods to reduce stud wear and potential road damage.
