Door Release Button SCOT BT-4 — SCOT wired push button for door release
SCOT BT-4 is a wired door release push button intended to control electric door strikes and access control systems. The device provides a momentary contact when pressed, sending a simple signal to unlock or release a door. It is designed for fixed installation close to entry points, intercoms, reception desks or security panels in residential and commercial buildings where a manual release of an electronically secured door is required.
The SCOT BT-4 offers a compact, low-profile design that is easy to install and connect to existing access control wiring. Its momentary action reduces the risk of leaving a door unintentionally unlocked and the wired connection ensures a reliable electrical signal without dependence on batteries or wireless links. The button is suitable for standard mounting positions and integrates with common electric strikes and control panels.
This wired push button is not suitable where wireless control or remote activation over a network is required. It also may not be appropriate for installations that demand vandal-resistant hardware or heavy-duty industrial enclosures; in such cases a reinforced or tamper-proof release button should be chosen. Compatibility must be checked if the access control system requires a specific voltage or contact type other than a standard momentary contact.
Mount the SCOT BT-4 at a convenient, accessible location near the door or intercom. Connect the button to the access control system using the low-voltage wiring terminals: one wire to the release input on the controller and the other to the common/ground as required by the controller. After wiring, test the button by pressing to ensure it provides a momentary closure that triggers the door release. Secure the mounting and route cabling to avoid pinching or exposure to moisture.
Install the button within easy reach of authorized personnel and test regularly as part of access control maintenance. Use appropriately rated wiring and secure connections at the control panel to ensure reliable operation. If the location is exposed or subject to tampering, select a dedicated vandal-resistant model.
