The 500GB SAS model balances capacity and efficiency, offering low power consumption without sacrificing enterprise-class reliability, vibration tolerance and data integrity. Available in SAS and SATA interfaces, this drive supports 6Gbps SAS 2.0 connectivity and optional government-grade self-encryption on SAS models.

Advantages

Designed for enterprise use, the Constellation 7200 provides the lowest operating power among comparable drives and additional PowerChoice™ options to reduce energy use during idle periods. As the first 2.5", 15mm business-critical drive, it fits more server and storage slots while delivering nearline performance that at system level can exceed twice the throughput of typical 3.5" HDDs. The drive also offers best-in-class rotational vibration tolerance and is available with self-encrypting (SED) capabilities on SAS models.
