Microphone Sennheiser e 602 II Black
The Sennheiser e 602 II Black is a dynamic cardioid instrument microphone optimized for low-frequency sources. Designed to capture bass instruments, kick drums and other low-end sound sources, it provides clear low-frequency extension, high sound-pressure handling and reliable directional rejection for use on stage and in the studio. The microphone features a rugged lightweight aluminium body and an integral stand mount for stable and easy positioning.
The microphone uses a lightweight high-performance voice coil and a humbucking coil for reduced noise, delivering fast transient response and dependable low-frequency reproduction. Its frequency-independent cardioid directivity offers isolation from other on-stage signals, and the aluminium housing combines durability with easy positioning on long microphone boom arms.
Mount the e 602 II on a stand or boom arm using the integral stand mount and position it close to the sound source: for kick drums aim the mic at the beater or slightly off-axis depending on the desired attack and low-end balance; for bass cabinets place it near the speaker cone where the low frequencies are strongest. Connect the microphone to a mixer or preamp via an XLR cable and adjust gain to avoid clipping while preserving low-frequency detail.
For live use, position the microphone to maximize isolation from other stage sources using its cardioid pattern; use gentle EQ to tighten bass if the low end sounds boomy. In studio settings, experiment with on-axis and slightly off-axis placements to find the preferred balance between attack and low-frequency warmth.
