The sera KH Test Carbonate Hardness Test Kit for Aquariums 15ml is a reliable water testing kit designed to accurately measure carbonate hardness in both freshwater and marine aquariums. Maintaining the correct carbonate hardness is essential for stable pH levels and the overall health of fish and aquatic plants. This easy-to-use liquid reagent test provides quick and precise results, helping aquarium owners effectively monitor water parameters and maintain optimal biological conditions.

Advantages

Using the sera KH Test allows aquarium keepers to easily monitor a vital water parameter with a liquid reagent method known for reliability. Consistent tracking of carbonate hardness prevents unexpected pH drops that can stress aquatic life. The 15ml test kit offers multiple tests, making it a practical addition to regular aquarium maintenance routines for both beginner and experienced hobbyists alike.

Suitable for

• Measuring carbonate hardness in freshwater aquariums
• Checking carbonate hardness levels in marine saltwater aquariums
• Routine monitoring of water parameters to ensure stable pH conditions
• Aquarium hobbyists managing planted tanks and community fish tanks

When it may not be suitable

This test kit is not designed for measuring total hardness, nitrate, phosphate, or other specific water parameters beyond carbonate hardness. It may also not be suitable for industrial water testing applications that require automated continuous digital monitoring equipment.

Key specifications

• Product type: Liquid reagent test kit
• Application: Carbonate hardness measurement
• Volume: 15ml
• Aquarium types: Freshwater and marine

How to use

To perform the test, rinse the provided glass vial thoroughly with the water to be tested, then fill it to the marked line with the aquarium water sample. Add the test reagent drop by drop, counting each drop and swirling the vial gently after each addition until the color changes from the initial color to the final indicator color. The number of drops used corresponds directly to the carbonate hardness value in degrees German hardness. Rinse the vial carefully with tap water after each use.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your aquarium requires carbonate hardness monitoring
• Ensure you understand how to interpret liquid reagent color change tests
• Check the volume of 15ml to determine if it meets your testing frequency needs

For best results, store the test kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Always read the complete enclosed instruction leaflet before conducting any water tests.
