Bicycle brake pad Shimano WP-EBPK05SRXA Stainless steel Resin
Bicycle brake pad Shimano WP-EBPK05SRXA Stainless steel Resin
The Shimano WP-EBPK05SRXA Stainless steel Resin bicycle brake pad is designed for reliable hydraulic disc braking on 2-piston calipers. The pad uses Shimano's fifth-generation resin friction material, offering reduced noise, improved modulation and significantly enhanced wear resistance compared with previous resin types. The back plate is stainless steel for corrosion resistance and dimensional stability, and the pads are supplied as a single pair in a box for convenient storage and installation.
Resin friction material tuned for quieter operation and finer modulation provides predictable stopping control. The fifth-generation compound delivers notably better wear resistance—reported as approximately 50% improvement over K03S and 110% over K02S—extending service intervals. A stainless steel back plate improves corrosion protection and helps maintain pad shape under load. The narrow K-shaped pad profile is intended for compatibility with a range of Shimano 2-piston brake calipers.
Remove the wheel and old pads according to the brake manufacturer's service procedure, clean the caliper area, and inspect pistons and rotor for contamination or excessive wear. Fit the Shimano WP-EBPK05SRXA pads into the caliper, ensuring correct orientation for the K-shaped pad profile and secure any retaining pins or clips. Reinstall the wheel and spin the rotor to check for proper clearance. Bed the new resin pads by performing a series of controlled stops from moderate speed to establish consistent friction and optimal braking performance.
Avoid contaminating the pad surfaces with oils, greases or brake cleaners; handle pads by the back plate. For best performance, pair these resin pads with a compatible Shimano rotor and follow a bedding-in routine of progressive stops. Replace pads when friction material is worn close to the back plate or if braking performance degrades.
