Shimano Magped Thread Lock And Anti-Seize Set Thread Security and Anti-Seize Compound Set

The Shimano Magped Thread Lock And Anti-Seize Set Thread Security and Anti-Seize Compound Set is a specialized bicycle maintenance kit designed to ensure secure assembly and long-term protection of threaded metal components. This essential workshop set combines thread-securing functionality with anti-seize properties to address the specific demands of bicycle servicing, helping to prevent both unexpected loosening caused by vibrations and stubborn component seizing due to corrosion.

Advantages

Using this compound set helps maintain the structural integrity of your bicycle by keeping critical bolts firmly in place during intense riding conditions. The thread-securing component prevents fasteners from vibrating loose, enhancing overall safety and reliability. Meanwhile, the anti-seize formula protects metal-on-metal interfaces from galling, cold welding, and corrosion, ensuring that parts can be disassembled smoothly during future maintenance sessions.

Suitable for

• Securing bicycle bolts and threaded connections against vibration-induced loosening
• Preventing corrosion and galling on metal bicycle components during installation
• Routine bicycle maintenance, assembly, and workshop servicing

When it may not be suitable

This product is not intended for non-threaded components, carbon fiber surfaces requiring specialized friction pastes, or internal hydraulic brake systems. It should also be avoided on applications where permanent, non-removable thread-locking strength is required without the possibility of future disassembly.

Key specifications

• Brand: Shimano
• Product type: Thread lock and anti-seize compound set
• Application: Bicycle maintenance, assembly, and thread security
• Primary functions: Prevents fastener loosening from vibrations and protects against metal seizing and corrosion

How to use

Ensure all targeted threads and metal surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, degreased, and dried prior to application. Apply a small amount of the thread-locking compound to male threads where vibration loosening is a concern, or apply the anti-seize compound to components prone to galling and corrosion during assembly. Tighten all fasteners to the manufacturer-specified torque values and wipe away any excess product from surrounding surfaces before use.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the compounds are compatible with the specific metals and materials of your bicycle components
• Assess whether you need thread security, anti-seize protection, or both for your specific maintenance tasks
• Review manufacturer guidelines for your bicycle parts regarding the use of thread-locking and anti-seize agents

Store the compounds in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and always follow standard safety practices regarding skin contact and ventilation during bicycle maintenance.
