Fiber Optic Keystone Connector ShiverPeaks 08-10221 ST–ST Simplex Multimode (MM) Red
The ShiverPeaks Fiber Optic Keystone Connector 08-10221 is an ST–ST simplex multimode (MM) inline connector finished in red, designed for insertion into keystone wall plates or patch panels. It provides ST ferrule terminations on both ends to enable a single-fiber simplex link, permitting straightforward mating with equipment or patchcords that use the ST interface. This keystone-style body simplifies mounting in standard keystone apertures and supports multimode LAN, telecom patching and short-distance data or audio/video transmission where an ST connector and a keystone form factor are required.
The keystone format allows easy snap-in installation into wall plates and patch panels without additional adapters. ST–ST simplex ferrules deliver a direct, keyed bayonet coupling that is widely compatible with legacy and current multimode fiber patching hardware. The red color provides clear visual identification for segmenting fiber types or networks and helps reduce connection errors in multi-run installations. The inline construction minimizes cable bulk at the connection point and preserves fiber alignment for reliable signal transfer over short multimode links.
Push the keystone-style connector into a compatible keystone aperture until it snaps into place; ensure the module is seated securely in the plate or panel. Connect an ST-terminated multimode patchcord or equipment adapter by aligning the keyed bayonet ferrule and engaging the twist-lock action until the ferrule seats. For inline use, route the attached fiber with gentle bends only, avoiding tight radii; maintain proper strain relief at both ends to prevent mechanical stress on the fiber. Inspect endfaces and clean with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before mating to reduce insertion loss and reflections.
Use this ST–ST multimode keystone connector for short-range multimode links and patching; verify connector cleanliness and use matching multimode fiber types (e.g., OM1/OM2/OM3) to maintain expected performance. Avoid exposure to excessive mechanical strain and protect installed connectors in dust-free keystone plates or covered panels when not in use.
