Network Extension Box ShiverPeaks 75000 Cat 5e with LSA Connection
ShiverPeaks Network Extension Box 75000 Cat 5e with LSA Connection is a compact, shielded extension and termination unit for structured cabling. Engineered for Cat 5e installations, this box provides a secure LSA-style connection area and cut-through (insulation displacement) contacts for quick terminations. It is suitable for extending existing Ethernet runs, creating intermediate distribution points, and offering a reliable, low-profile enclosure for cable management in office or residential environments.
The shielded enclosure reduces electromagnetic interference and maintains signal integrity for Cat 5e cabling. LSA-style insulation displacement contacts allow tool-assisted, reproducible terminations without stripping conductors, reducing installation time and human error. The compact design fits into standard cable routing spaces and supports both 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet over Cat 5e, providing compatibility with common network equipment.
Mount the extension box at the desired location within the structured cabling path and secure it according to local installation practice. Insert each cable conductor into the designated LSA contact positions and use the appropriate LSA tool to press the conductors into the cut-through contacts, ensuring firm termination. Ensure shielding continuity by properly bonding the cable shield to the box where applicable. After termination, test each link with a suitable cable tester to verify wiring, continuity, and performance up to Cat 5e specifications.
Use certified Cat 5e patch cords and maintain proper bend radii to preserve performance. Where possible, perform termination and testing in a controlled environment and label each termination point to simplify future maintenance and troubleshooting.
