S-ATA to e-SATA slot bracket ShiverPeaks 75625 1-port with cable
The ShiverPeaks S-ATA to e-SATA slot bracket (1-port) is an internal-to-external interface adapter that converts a motherboard SATA header into a rear-panel e-SATA port. The compact bracket mounts into a standard PCI/expansion slot and includes a cable to link an internal SATA connector to the external e-SATA socket. It enables direct connection of external SATA drives to a desktop PC for high-speed data transfer and storage expansion without the need for USB or network-based interfaces.
This 1-port adapter provides a straightforward hardware solution to extend internal SATA functionality to the outside of the chassis. It preserves the full SATA signaling and throughput of the internal connector, offering a dedicated external port for SATA hard drives and SSDs. The included cable is sized for typical internal routing and simplifies installation by eliminating the need to purchase separate cables. The metal bracket offers a secure mount in the rear panel and aligns the e-SATA connector for easy access.
Power off the PC and unplug from mains before installation. Remove the appropriate rear slot cover on the chassis, secure the bracket in the slot with the existing screw, and route the included cable to an available SATA header on the motherboard. Attach the cable to the motherboard SATA connector and ensure a firm connection. Close the case, reconnect power, and boot the system. The operating system should recognize drives connected to the external e-SATA port as standard SATA devices; install any required drivers if prompted by the system.
For reliable performance, connect externally powered SATA drives or ensure that the external enclosure provides appropriate power, as the bracket provides only data connectivity. Use good-quality SATA cables and avoid sharp bends in the included cable to maintain signal integrity. Check motherboard documentation for SATA port mode settings (AHCI/IDE) to ensure compatibility with your operating system and drive features.
