Microphone Shure BLX24E/B58-H8E Vocal System with Beta58
The Shure BLX24E/B58-H8E Vocal System with Beta58 is a single-channel wireless vocal set designed for live performance and rehearsal use. It pairs a rugged handheld transmitter fitted with the Beta58 dynamic vocal capsule and a compact receiver that operates in the Shure H8E frequency range (518–542 MHz). The system provides switchable frequencies across three selectable 8 MHz channels and offers both XLR and unbalanced TS outputs for integration with PA systems and mixers. Battery-powered operation and a robust supercardioid polar pattern make the package suitable for demanding stage environments.
The system delivers consistent, clear vocal reproduction using the acclaimed Beta58 capsule, which emphasizes presence and articulation while rejecting off-axis sound. Wireless connectivity within the 518–542 MHz band and switchable channels reduce interference risk in congested RF environments. With up to approximately 11–15 hours of operation on a single AA battery and transmission power of 10 mW, the set balances runtime and reliable coverage for typical venue sizes. The receiver’s XLR and TS outputs provide flexible connection options for different sound setups.
Install a fresh AA battery in the handheld transmitter and power on both transmitter and receiver. Select a matching channel on transmitter and receiver using the switchable frequency settings to avoid interference. Connect the receiver to a mixer or PA using the XLR or TS output as required by your sound system. Position the microphone 5–15 cm from the singer’s mouth and maintain a consistent angle to the capsule to ensure reliable supercardioid pickup and minimize plosives. Monitor the receiver signal and audio levels on the mixing console to prevent clipping and adjust gain as needed.
For optimal wireless performance, scan the local RF environment before a performance and choose the least congested channel. Use fresh high-quality AA batteries to ensure the rated 11–15 hours of operation and keep spare batteries on hand. When deploying multiple wireless systems, maintain proper frequency coordination and spacing between transmitters to minimize intermodulation. Place the receiver in a clear line of sight to the stage when possible and avoid placing it inside metal racks or behind large obstacles.
