Camping Pot SIGMA Trangia Kittle 17.5 L - camping cookware

SIGMA Trangia Kittle 17.5 L is a large-capacity camping pot designed for outdoor cooking, boiling water for groups, and preparing meals at basecamps. The pot follows Trangia-style cookware principles, offering even heat distribution and durable construction suitable for use on camping stoves and over open flames. Its 17.5 litre volume makes it suitable for group trips, mountain huts, or emergency water boiling where a reliable, simple pot is required.

Advantages

The SIGMA Trangia Kittle 17.5 L provides a straightforward design focused on practicality: a wide diameter for efficient heating, robust material to withstand field use, and handles sized and positioned for safer handling when hot. Its large capacity reduces the number of heating cycles needed for group cooking and supports quick boiling of substantial water volumes. The pot is compatible with Trangia-style stoves and other camping heat sources, offering predictable performance in varied outdoor conditions.

Suitable for

• Group camping and cooking for several people
• Boiling water for sterilisation, cooking or beverage preparation
• Basecamp or car-camping where larger cookware is practical
• Emergency preparedness and community cooking
• Use with Trangia-style stoves, larger portable burners, or open flame

When it may not be suitable

This 17.5 litre pot is relatively large and heavy when filled, so it is not ideal for lightweight backpacking or situations where pack weight and compactness are critical. For solo hikers or minimalists who prioritise ultralight gear, smaller pots or compact nesting sets will be more appropriate. Additionally, in very constrained stove setups the pot’s diameter or height may exceed the safe or stable area for some compact burners.

Key specifications

• Capacity: 17.5 litres
• Design: Trangia-style camping pot suitable for stoves and open flame
• Typical use: large-volume boiling and group meal preparation
• Material: durable cookware construction for outdoor conditions
• Handles: integrated or foldable handles designed for handling over heat

How to use

Place the SIGMA Trangia Kittle on a stable stove or over a controlled open flame. Add water or food and monitor heat to avoid boil-over; use an appropriate windscreen or stabiliser when required. Use heat-resistant gloves or a pot lifter to manipulate the pot and pour out hot contents safely. Clean the pot after use with warm water and mild detergent; remove soot from the exterior if used over open flame and allow to dry fully before storage.

What to consider before purchase

• Whether a 17.5 litre capacity matches your typical group size and cooking needs
• Transport and storage space, plus the added weight when filled with water
• Compatibility with your stove or burner dimensions and stability
• Cleaning and maintenance expectations after use over open flames

Usage recommendations

For efficient fuel use, heat only the amount of water or food required and use a lid to reduce boil time. When transporting, empty and dry the pot completely and secure handles to avoid damage. For community or emergency settings, pair the pot with a stable base and a windscreen to improve boiling efficiency and safety.
