The SilverStone ECM20 is an internal interface card that expands a desktop PC's M.2 connectivity by providing one M-key slot routed to a PCIe x4 interface and a second B-key slot routed to a SATA III interface. The card is designed to accommodate two M.2 SSDs simultaneously and fits into a PCIe expansion slot with an optional low-profile bracket. No drivers are required for operation.
The ECM20 enables high-speed NVMe storage via the PCIe x4-linked M.2 (M key) slot while also offering an additional M.2 (B key) slot for SATA-based drives, giving flexible storage expansion without occupying multiple motherboard ports. Its low-profile expansion option and plug-and-play operation simplify installation and compatibility with a range of desktop systems.
Power off the PC and unplug it from the mains. Install the ECM20 into an available PCIe expansion slot and secure the bracket. Insert an M.2 NVMe SSD into the M-key slot at an angle and fasten it with the mounting screw; if using a SATA-based M.2 drive, insert it into the B-key slot and secure it similarly. Reconnect power, start the system, and the drives will be available to the operating system without requiring driver installation. If needed, replace the full-height bracket with the included low-profile bracket before installation.
For best performance, install an NVMe drive in the M-key (PCIe x4) slot and use the B-key slot for a SATA M.2 drive. Ensure your motherboard has an available PCIe slot and sufficient cooling for high-speed SSDs.
