Silverstone ECM28 Internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 PCIe Adapter Black
The SilverStone ECM28 Internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 PCIe Adapter (SST-ECM28) is a low-profile internal expansion card that provides an internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection for PC systems. With a total height of 32 mm it fits easily inside 1U form factor chassis and supports M.2 SSDs in lengths 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280. The card includes a built-in LED status indicator and is intended for installation in a compatible PCIe slot to expose internal USB connectivity.
The adapter offers a compact, low-profile design suitable for slim or rackmount systems, passive cooling for silent operation, and support for a wide range of M.2 SSD lengths. A built-in LED provides a visual status indicator. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 signaling (up to 6 Gbit/s) when connected to a proper host interface.
Install the ECM28 into a compatible PCIe slot on the motherboard following standard anti-static precautions. Secure the card in the chassis using the appropriate bracket or fasteners for your case. Insert a supported M.2 SSD into the M.2 slot and secure it at the correct standoff for the chosen length (2230/2242/2260/2280). Connect any required internal power or host headers as specified by the system manual. After assembly, power on the system and verify the built-in LED status indicator and that the operating system recognizes the USB interface and any connected storage devices.
There are three types of M.2 SSD interfaces: legacy SATA (B key), PCIe using AHCI (M key), and PCIe using NVMe (M key). Verify your M.2 SSD type and whether your motherboard or system supports that interface before pairing an M.2 drive with this adapter. NVMe (PCIe using NVMe) offers the best performance when supported; PCIe using AHCI provides compatibility but reduced performance, while legacy SATA (B key) uses SATA/AHCI signaling.
