Sirui SVM-165P Monopod with Rapid System for Digital and Film Cameras

The Sirui SVM-165P is a professional-grade monopod engineered for photographers and videographers who require speed, stability, and versatility. Featuring the innovative Rapid System, this monopod allows for near-instant height adjustments, ensuring you never miss a critical shot. Its robust construction supports equipment weighing up to 10 kg, making it suitable for a wide range of digital and film camera setups. The integrated 3-leg base provides a stable foundation, while the modular design allows the unit to be reconfigured for various shooting scenarios.

Advantages

The primary advantage of the Sirui SVM-165P is its Rapid System, which utilizes an ergonomic twist lock to enable fast extension and retraction of the monopod. This efficiency is complemented by a pedal-operated base that allows for quick angle adjustments and locking, providing 36 degrees of tilting flexibility. The modular design is another significant benefit, as the mounting plate, leg, and base can be detached to function as an extension rod or a compact tabletop tripod. Built to withstand demanding environments, the monopod has undergone rigorous testing for temperature resistance and corrosion, ensuring long-term reliability in the field.

Suitable for

• Fast-paced run-and-gun videography
• Event and sports photography
• Studio and location portrait sessions
• Macro photography using the tabletop configuration
• Travel photography where weight and speed are critical

This monopod may not be the ideal choice for long-exposure photography requiring absolute stillness over extended periods, as a traditional tripod remains superior for such tasks. Additionally, users who primarily work in extremely confined spaces might find the 3-leg base footprint larger than a standard single-leg monopod.

Key specifications

• Maximum load capacity: 10 kg
• Height range: 83 cm to 165 cm
• Weight: 1.58 kg
• Base type: 3-leg with pedal lock
• Tilting angle: 36°
• Mounting threads: 1/4" and 3/8"
• Material: Durable construction for harsh environments

How to use

To set up the Sirui SVM-165P, simply rotate the ergonomic twist locks to extend the monopod to your desired height. The Rapid System allows for smooth, one-step adjustment. To utilize the base, step on the pedal to unlock the ball joint, allowing for 36 degrees of tilt. Once you have achieved your desired angle, step on the pedal again to lock the monopod in a vertical position. The modular components can be detached by following the release mechanism on the mounting plate, allowing you to switch between monopod, extension rod, or tabletop tripod modes as needed.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your camera and lens combination does not exceed the 10 kg weight limit.
• Verify that your camera head or tripod head is compatible with the 1/4" or 3/8" mounting threads.
• Consider the height requirements of your typical shooting style to ensure the 165 cm maximum height meets your needs.
• Evaluate if the 3-leg base footprint is suitable for your intended shooting locations.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance in challenging environments, ensure the twist locks are fully tightened after adjustment. Regularly clean the base pedal mechanism to maintain smooth operation, especially after use in dusty or sandy conditions.
