SmallRig 3292 Seamless Focus Gear Ring 66-68mm Rubber Black

The SmallRig 3292 Seamless Focus Gear Ring 66-68mm Rubber Black is an essential camera lens accessory designed to integrate with follow focus systems for precise and stable focal length adjustments during video recording and filmmaking. Crafted from durable, elastic black rubber, this gear ring provides a reliable grip, moderate stiffness, and a standard pitch that fits lenses seamlessly and evenly. It enables smooth 360-degree rotation with minimal noise and no distortion, ensuring professional performance for your camera rig setup.

Advantages

This seamless focus gear ring offers an anti-slip surface design that delivers accurate conduction and stable transmission by remaining coaxial with the lens. Its elastic material allows it to fit camera lenses perfectly while maintaining moderate stiffness for consistent and reliable operation. Videographers benefit from quiet and distortion-free adjustments, enabling smooth 360-degree rotation and seamless switching between focus points during dynamic shooting scenarios.

Suitable for

• Camera lens follow focus systems in video production
• Filmmaking and professional video recording rigs
• Precise focal length adjustments
• Lenses with diameters ranging from 66mm to 68mm

When it may not be suitable

This gear ring is not suitable for camera lenses with diameters outside the 66mm to 68mm range, as it requires a specific fit to operate correctly. Additionally, it is designed exclusively for manual follow focus applications and cannot be used with autofocus lenses that lack mechanical focus gear compatibility.

Key specifications

• Outer diameter compatibility: 66mm to 68mm
• Gear pitch: Standard 0.8 MOD
• Material: Durable elastic rubber
• Rotation range: 360 degrees
• Color: Black

How to use

To use the focus gear ring, select a compatible camera lens with an outer diameter between 66mm and 68mm. Stretch the elastic rubber ring carefully and slide it over the manual focus ring of the lens until it sits evenly and securely in place. Ensure the gear ring is aligned coaxially with the lens barrel. Once properly mounted, engage the gear ring with your camera follow focus system to perform smooth and precise adjustments during recording.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify the exact outer diameter of your camera lens to ensure it falls within the 66-68mm compatibility range.
• Check that your existing follow focus system is compatible with standard 0.8 MOD gear pitches.
• Confirm that your lens features a manual focus ring suitable for external gear attachment.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance, regularly check that the gear ring remains tightly and evenly fitted to the lens barrel to prevent slippage during extended shooting sessions. Always store your equipment in a clean environment away from extreme temperatures to preserve the elasticity and durability of the rubber material.
