Snapmaker two-sided PEI print surface — smooth and textured, no magnetic sticker, for Snapmaker Artisan
Two-sided PEI print surface for the Snapmaker Artisan 3D printer, featuring a smooth side and a textured side. This replacement build plate provides a durable PEI-coated printing surface without a magnetic sticker, designed for direct mounting or use with the printer's compatible bed fixture. It supports common FDM filaments such as PLA and ABS and is intended to improve first-layer adhesion and final part surface quality when installed and used according to Snapmaker Artisan guidelines.
The double-sided PEI surface gives a choice between a smooth finish and a textured finish depending on the side used, allowing control over the bottom appearance of printed parts. Because it does not include a magnetic backing, the plate mounts directly to the printer bed or compatible fixture, reducing additional thickness and ensuring consistent thermal contact. The PEI coating offers reliable adhesion for a range of filaments while remaining easy to clean and maintain with standard methods recommended for PEI surfaces.
Remove the original build plate per the Snapmaker Artisan instructions and install this PEI surface on the printer’s bed or compatible fixture, ensuring the chosen side (smooth or textured) faces upward. Level the bed and set the appropriate nozzle and bed temperatures for the filament in use, then run a test first layer to verify adhesion. Clean the surface before printing with isopropyl alcohol or mild detergent as recommended for PEI, and avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the coating.
For best results, select the smooth side for prints that require a glossy bottom finish and the textured side for improved matte appearance and reduced show-through of bed marks. Use bed temperature and nozzle clearance settings recommended for each filament type, and perform routine cleaning and light surface prep to maintain consistent adhesion over multiple print cycles.
