The Sonnet BRD-UPGRTB3-SE1 is an internal Thunderbolt 3 interface card with a PCIe host interface designed to upgrade compatible Sonnet enclosures (such as the Echo Express SE I) to full Thunderbolt 3 capability. It supports data transfer rates up to 40 Gbit/s, provides USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbit/s) connectivity on the secondary port, and is compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 10.12 or later. The card has a silver and green finish and installs inside the chassis to enable high-speed external connectivity.

Advantages

The upgrade card delivers native Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth of 40 Gbit/s rather than the 20 Gbit/s limit of Thunderbolt 2 adapters, allows daisy-chaining of additional Thunderbolt 3 peripherals at full speed, and supports connecting USB devices at up to 10 Gbit/s via the second port.
