Thunderbolt Expansion Chassis Sonnet Echo Express SE IIIe
The Sonnet Echo Express SE IIIe is a compact Thunderbolt expansion chassis that connects up to three full-height, half-length (up to 7.75 in) PCIe cards to computers with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Housed in a black aluminum desktop enclosure, the unit supports PCIe 3.0, 2.0, and 1.1 cards in three x8 slots and provides space for double-width cards with daughter boards. An auxiliary PCIe power connector is included for cards that require additional power.
The Echo Express SE IIIe enables desktop systems and thin laptops running macOS, Windows 10, or Linux to use professional PCIe cards that would not otherwise fit or be supported. Its compact footprint offers three x8 PCIe slots in a small desktop chassis while remaining compatible with a wide range of Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 hosts. The auxiliary power connector expands compatibility to higher-power PCIe cards.
Power off the expansion chassis and your host computer before installing PCIe cards. Open the chassis following the manufacturer’s instructions, insert the compatible PCIe cards into the x8 slots, and secure them. Connect the auxiliary PCIe power connector to any card that requires extra power, then close the chassis. Connect the Echo Express SE IIIe to your computer using a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 cable, power on the chassis and the host, and install any required drivers or firmware for the installed cards on the host system.
Install only Thunderbolt-compatible host systems and use recommended power and Thunderbolt cables. Verify card length and any daughter-card clearance before installation, and confirm driver support for your host operating system (macOS, Windows 10, or Linux).
