Screw SPAX BLAX 40 mm Steel 200 pcs
SPAX BLAX screws are steel full-thread screws 40 mm long, supplied in a pack of 200. They feature a flat countersunk head with a polygonal underside and a T-STAR plus hexalobular internal drive that ensures optimal bit seating and high force transmission. The 4CUT arrow-shaped tip displaces wood fibres during insertion, reducing the need for pre-drilling and minimising splitting. These screws are manufactured in Germany and intended for a wide range of wood applications where a dark, discreet head appearance is desired.
The T-STAR plus drive provides a larger contact surface than Phillips or cross recess drives, enabling precise and efficient torque transfer and reducing bit slips. The flat countersunk head with pockets mills into the wood, allowing flush countersinking often without pre-drilling. Full-thread design ensures high tensile and compressive load transfer along the entire screw length, suitable for heavy-duty wood connections. The 4CUT tip lowers insertion torque and minimises edge splitting by creating space for the screw core.
Select a T-STAR plus bit matched to the screw. Position the screw and start driving with a cordless or corded screwdriver set to an appropriate torque. For many wood types the 4CUT tip and the countersinking pockets allow direct insertion without pre-drilling; when working near edges or in very hard wood, pre-drill a pilot hole to avoid splitting. Drive the screw until the flat countersunk head sits flush with the workpiece surface.
Use a compatible T-STAR plus bit and set the screwdriver torque to suit the wood species. For repeat fastening tasks, a battery-powered screwdriver will increase efficiency and reduce operator fatigue. When working with very dense hardwoods or thin edge areas, consider pre-drilling despite the 4CUT tip to ensure optimal results.
