The StarTech.com 25SATSAS35 converter lets you install a 2.5" SATA or SAS hard drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD) into a standard 3.5" SATA bay. Constructed from durable lightweight plastic with ventilation openings, the converter provides standard 3.5" mounting points on the sides and bottom and supports drives up to 15 mm height. It is compatible with SATA III controllers to enable transfer speeds up to 6 Gbps when paired with compatible hardware.

Advantages

How to use

Insert the 2.5" SATA or SAS drive into the converter so that the drive’s SATA connector aligns with the converter’s internal SATA interface. Slide the drive fully into place until it is seated, then mount the assembled 3.5" form factor unit into the target 3.5" bay, drawer or enclosure using standard 3.5" mounting points. Connect power and SATA data cables to the host system. For optimal performance with SATA III drives, connect to a SATA III-capable controller.
