The StarTech.com SATA PCIe Card (2P6GR-PCIE-SATA-CARD) is a two-port SATA III (6Gbps) controller that installs in a PCIe x2 slot to add two SATA 6Gbps HDDs, SSDs or optical drives to a desktop or server. The card uses an ASM1062R controller, supports PCI Express 2.0 and SATA III specifications, and includes both full-height and low-profile brackets for flexible installation. It is backed by a lifetime warranty and StarTech.com technical support.

Advantages

This SATA PCIe card provides hardware RAID support (RAID 0, RAID 1, SPAN/BIG and JBOD) for performance, redundancy or capacity expansion. With the ASM1062R controller it delivers high-speed connections for two SATA 6Gbps drives and maintains backward compatibility with older SATA and PCIe standards. The card offers cross-platform OS support for Windows, macOS and Linux, plus BIOS-level RAID configuration on supported systems and a Windows application for RAID management and monitoring.

How to use

Power off the computer and install the card into an available PCIe x2 (or larger) slot. Secure the bracket, attach SATA cables from the card’s two SATA ports to the drives (SATA cables not included), and reconnect power. On macOS use the native RAID Assistant for software RAID; BIOS-level RAID setup is not supported on macOS.
