The StarTech PCIe Card PEX1S1P950 adds a DB25 IEEE 1284 parallel port and a DB9 RS-232 serial port to a desktop PC using a single PCI-Express x1 (PCIe 2.0) slot. Based on the Asix AX99100 controller, the card is compact (95 x 80 x 22 mm), compatible with standard/full-profile PCIe slots and supports a wide range of operating systems including Windows (7 or later), Windows Server (2003 or later) and Linux (kernel 2.6.x or later). The card is the updated version of the PEX1S1P952 and is covered by StarTech.com’s lifetime warranty.

Advantages

This PCIe expansion card provides both a parallel (DB25) and serial (DB9) interface on a single low-profile board, enabling legacy device connectivity without occupying multiple slots. The parallel port supports SPP/Byte/Nibble/ECP modes and IEEE 1284 speeds up to 2.5 Mbps. The serial port uses an industry-standard 16950-compatible UART with a 256-byte FIFO buffer and supports RS-232 bi-directional data rates up to 921.6 Kbps. An optional SATA power input and on-board jumper allow you to supply and select pin 9 power (5V or 12V) for the serial port when needed.
