The Supermicro SC745 chassis series is designed for Intel Xeon platforms and is also compatible with previous-generation Intel and AMD single- and dual-processor motherboards. It includes eight hot-swap 3.5" drive bays and redundant, high-efficiency (95%+) power supplies to provide stable operation and straightforward maintenance. The chassis implements 100% cooling redundancy through high-performance fans and supports up to three high-end graphics cards via seven tool-less PCIe expansion slots and 6-pin power connectors. The tower variant can be converted to a 4U rack-mountable chassis for use in a standard rack.
The chassis offers redundant, high-efficiency power supplies and full cooling redundancy to reduce the risk of downtime. Hot-swap 3.5" bays simplify drive replacement without system shutdown. Tool-less PCIe slots and 6-pin power connectors make GPU installation faster and easier. The convertible tower-to-4U design provides deployment flexibility for different data center environments.
Install a compatible Intel or AMD single- or dual-socket motherboard, then mount drives into the eight hot-swap 3.5" bays. Connect redundant power supplies and configure power settings according to the server workload. Insert expansion cards into the seven tool-less PCIe slots and attach GPUs using the available 6-pin power connectors if required. Verify fan operation and airflow to maintain cooling redundancy. If needed, follow the manufacturer instructions to convert the tower to a 4U rack-mountable chassis for rack installation.
