Description

SwitchBot Contact Sensor detects door and window openings to enhance home safety for elderly people, children, and pets. The built-in light sensor can automatically trigger a SwitchBot Bot to turn on lights when movement is detected in low-light conditions. When paired with a SwitchBot Hub (Hub Mini required for some functions), the sensor can recognize when someone enters or leaves the home and work with the SwitchBot app to automate appliance control. It also sends remote notifications to your phone and can trigger Alexa voice alerts if a door opens while you are away. The Contact Sensor integrates with other SwitchBot devices to create automated routines, such as turning off air purifiers when a window opens.

How to use

Mount the Contact Sensor by aligning the magnet with the bottom of the main body and fix both parts close to each other on a door, window or other object to be monitored. For remote notifications, connect the sensor to a SwitchBot Hub (SwitchBot Hub Mini required for push alerts and cloud automation) and set up routines in the SwitchBot app. The built-in light sensor and motion detection can be used together with a SwitchBot Bot to switch lights on automatically in dark conditions.

Recommendations
