TECE reducing tee 16 x 20 x 16 mm plumbing fitting, model 730504

Reducing tee TECE 16 x 20 x 16 mm model 730504 is a plumbing fitting designed to join a main run of 16 mm pipe with a 20 mm branch while maintaining 16 mm on the opposite run. The fitting is intended for use in potable water and heating distribution systems where a change of pipe diameter is needed to supply appliances or branch circuits. Constructed to match the dimensions listed, the tee enables smooth hydraulic transition between different pipe sizes and is compatible with standard installation methods for TECE piping systems.

Advantages

The reducing tee provides a controlled reduction from 20 mm to 16 mm within the branch connection while keeping the run connections at 16 mm, allowing tidy and reliable pipe routing. It is suitable for potable water and heating applications, ensuring compatibility with common plumbing layouts. The design reduces the need for multiple fittings when creating a branch with a different diameter, saving installation time and minimizing potential leak points when correctly installed.

Suitable for

• Branching potable water distribution lines where a 20 mm feed must connect to 16 mm runs
• Heating system distribution and tapping off radiators or zones
• Domestic and commercial plumbing installations requiring a reduction at the branch
• Repairs or retrofits where pipe diameter changes occur

Key specifications

• Connection configuration: reducing tee with central branch larger than runs
• Run diameter: 16 mm
• Branch diameter: 20 mm
• Application: potable water and heating distribution systems
• Material compatibility: designed for use with the corresponding TECE piping and compatible plastic piping systems

How to use

Select the appropriate position in the piping layout where a branch of greater diameter is required. Prepare the pipe ends according to the TECE system instructions, ensuring clean, square cuts and correct insertion depth. Install the reducing tee by connecting the 16 mm runs and the 20 mm branch with the recommended joining method for the piping system in use (e.g., press-fit, push-fit, or other approved connection technique). Verify alignment, secure supports as necessary, and pressure-test the system following local codes and TECE installation guidelines.

Usage recommendations

Use this reducing tee only with compatible piping and connection methods specified by the system manufacturer. Follow local regulations for potable water and heating installations, perform pressure tests after installation, and use appropriate supports and insulation where required to prevent stress and thermal losses.
