The TerraMaster D2-320 is a compact 2-bay desktop disk array that supports both 3.5"/2.5" SATA HDDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs. With a USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps) interface and USB-C cable included, the unit is designed for fast external storage, RAID configurations and flexible use with PCs or TerraMaster NAS devices running TOS 5.1 or later.

Advantages

D2-320 provides high transfer bandwidth up to 10 Gbps via USB3.2 Gen2 and can reach high sequential read/write speeds depending on installed drives and RAID mode. It accepts drives up to 22 TB each (support for larger drives not verified) for a maximum stated capacity of 44 TB. The enclosure supports multiple RAID modes (RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, Single Disk), a tool-free, push-lock tray for hot-swapping drives, intelligent disk sleep to reduce power consumption, and temperature-controlled low-noise cooling. The device also includes protection against improper power supply and is compatible with a wide range of host interfaces (USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 and Thunderbolt 3/4 via USB-C).

How to use

Install one or two SATA drives into the tool-free trays and insert the trays into the enclosure until the push-lock secures them. Connect the D2-320 to a host computer via the supplied USB-C cable; the device is compatible with USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 and Thunderbolt 3/4 ports. Configure the desired RAID mode using the host OS, RAID utility or TerraMaster management tools. To use automatic backups on Windows, install the TPC Backupper client on the PC, connect the device and set up a scheduled backup task. When connecting to a TerraMaster NAS, use TOS 5.1 or later and follow NAS instructions to create arrays or storage pools on the D2-320.

Usage recommendations

Use compatible SATA HDDs/SSDs listed in TerraMaster's compatibility documentation. For best performance, choose drives of the same model and capacity for RAID arrays; ensure the NAS firmware or host drivers are up to date.
