Activated carbon filter for aquarium, Tetra 151598 — for 15–60 L tanks
The Tetra activated carbon filter cartridge (model for 15–60 L aquariums) is a replaceable chemical filtration element designed for compatible Tetra filter units, including EasyCrystal Filter 250 and EasyCrystal FilterBox 300. The cartridge contains activated carbon that adsorbs odors, discoloration and a range of dissolved organic contaminants to improve water clarity and support healthy freshwater aquarium conditions. It fits aquariums with volumes from 15 to 60 litres and is intended for periodic replacement to maintain filtration performance.
This activated carbon filter provides targeted chemical filtration that reduces yellowing and unwanted smells, contributing to clearer water and improved visual appearance of the aquarium. The cartridge complements the mechanical and biological stages of the compatible filter units, helping to remove dissolved impurities without manual rinsing of the medium. It is designed for fast, clean replacement and to work within multi-stage filtration systems used in small to medium freshwater tanks.
Remove the spent cartridge from the compatible filter unit and insert the activated carbon cartridge into the filter housing with the green-marked side facing the front of the unit. There is no need to rinse the filter medium before installation. After installation, run the filter as usual and monitor water clarity. Replace the cartridge approximately every four weeks or sooner if water quality indicates reduced performance.
For consistent water clarity and to avoid handling loose media, replace the cartridge at regular four-week intervals. Use this cartridge in conjunction with mechanical and biological filter media in the same filter unit to ensure balanced filtration. If you observe persistent discoloration or odor between replacements, check overall tank maintenance, feedings and stocking levels rather than extending cartridge life.
